Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our services or website. By booking a repair or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About Us

Instant Mobile Fix is a mobile phone and gadget repair business based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. We offer both walk-in shop repairs and doorstep (home visit) repair services. References to "we", "us" or "our" refer to Instant Mobile Fix.

2. Our Services

We provide repair services for mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other electronic devices. Our services include:

  • In-store repairs at 150 Desborough Road, High Wycombe, HP11 2QA
  • Doorstep repair service at your home, workplace or other agreed location
  • Mail-in repair service (terms agreed separately at time of booking)
  • Free diagnostic assessment before any paid repair work begins

3. Booking and Quotes

3.1 All quotes provided are estimates based on the information you supply at time of booking. The final price may differ if additional faults are discovered during the diagnostic assessment.

3.2 We will always contact you with a confirmed price before carrying out any paid repair work. No work will proceed without your approval.

3.3 Diagnostic assessments are free of charge unless otherwise stated. If you choose not to proceed with a repair after a diagnostic, no charge will be made.

3.4 For doorstep repair bookings, a callout fee of £10 applies and is payable regardless of whether a repair is carried out.

4. Warranty

4.1 We offer a lifetime warranty on all premium screen replacements. This covers manufacturing defects in the replacement part.

4.2 For all other repairs, a 90-day warranty applies on both parts and labour unless otherwise specified at time of booking.

4.3 Warranties are void if:

  • The device has been tampered with or repaired by a third party after our repair
  • Physical damage, liquid damage or accidental damage has occurred after the repair
  • The fault is unrelated to the original repair carried out

4.4 No warranty is offered on water damage repairs. We will inform you of this before proceeding.

4.5 To make a warranty claim, contact us within the warranty period with proof of your original repair (booking reference or receipt).

5. Your Device and Data

5.1 You are responsible for backing up all data on your device before handing it to us for repair. We strongly recommend doing this before any repair appointment.

5.2 While data loss during repair is extremely rare, Instant Mobile Fix cannot be held liable for any loss of data, contacts, photos, apps or other content on your device as a direct or indirect result of the repair process.

5.3 We will not access, copy or share any personal data stored on your device. Your privacy is important to us.

5.4 We recommend removing any SIM card and memory card before leaving your device with us, though this is not mandatory.

6. Payment

6.1 Payment is due on completion of the repair unless otherwise agreed in advance.

6.2 We accept cash, card payments, and bank transfer. Payment methods accepted will be confirmed at the time of booking.

6.3 If you fail to collect your device within 30 days of being notified that the repair is complete, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of £5 per week thereafter.

6.4 If a device is left uncollected for 90 days after notification of repair completion, we reserve the right to dispose of the device to recover outstanding costs.

7. Doorstep Repair Service

7.1 For doorstep repairs, you must ensure an adult (aged 18 or over) is present at the agreed location at the agreed time.

7.2 We will confirm your technician's estimated arrival time by phone or SMS. We aim to arrive within the agreed time window, but cannot guarantee exact arrival times due to factors outside our control such as traffic.

7.3 If you need to cancel or reschedule a doorstep appointment, please give us at least 2 hours' notice. Late cancellations (under 2 hours) may result in the callout fee being charged.

7.4 Our technicians carry ID and you are entitled to ask to see it before allowing access.

8. Devices We Cannot Repair

8.1 We reserve the right to decline any repair job at our discretion, including where:

  • The device is too severely damaged for a safe or cost-effective repair
  • Parts are unavailable or no longer manufactured
  • The repair would require specialised equipment we do not carry

8.2 We will inform you as early as possible if we are unable to carry out a requested repair.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Our liability to you in connection with any repair service is limited to the cost of that repair.

9.2 We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of earnings, business interruption, or loss of data.

9.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Consumer Rights

10.1 As a consumer, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. These terms do not affect those rights.

10.2 If you are unhappy with a repair, please contact us in the first instance so we can attempt to resolve the issue. We aim to respond to all complaints within 2 business days.

10.3 If we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may be able to seek resolution through an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme or through the courts.
